Who we are

Awaken the Flame (awakentheflame.com, “we,” “us”) is a free publication of short Drops delivered on the site and by email. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site or join the email list, and what we do with it.

What we collect

Your email address, when you sign up to get the Drops. That is the only personal information the sign-up form asks for.

Basic usage data, collected automatically through Google Analytics: pages viewed, how you arrived at the site, device and browser type, and approximate location (city or region). Your browser also sends your IP address to the services that host the site and its images.

Email engagement data, such as whether an email was delivered or opened and which links were clicked.

How we use it

To send you a welcome email and each new Drop, and to understand which Drops people read so we can make them better. We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers we need to run the site, and only for that purpose: Brevo (stores the email list and sends our emails), Google Analytics (site statistics), Render (hosts the site) and Cloudflare (hosts the site’s images). Each handles your information under its own privacy policy.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Cookies

Google Analytics uses cookies to count visits and tell new visitors from returning ones. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on. The site works the same either way.

Your choices

Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can use it at any time. You can also ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing us. We keep your email address while you’re subscribed and remove it when you ask us to.

Children

The site isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we’ll remove it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update it on this page and change the effective date above.
